About us

We love good films, excellent local cuisine and inspiring interiors and we share this love with our Guests everyday. Stare Kino Cinema Residence was opened early autumn in 2013 starting with 22 film apartments inspired by most popular polish movies and serials. The decor and the theme of the hotel were created in the cooperation with great architects, interior designers and new technology specialists. Paying attention to the details we managed to build a boutique and unique place, dedicated to the film history of our city.

All the apartments have a unique design, each presents a different film theme, no two are alike. The films that were the inspiration for our interiors were carefully selected by Stworzyszenie Regio Filmowa Łódź - the film history of Łódź specialists. All of them are local productions. In 2014 20 more apartments joined our portfolio. The new rooms hide the secrets of famous hollywood productions such as "The god father", "Gone with the wind", "The pink panther" or "Casablanca"

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Stare Kino Residence is housed at the site of Poland's first permanent cinema which was opened in 1899 by brothers Władysław and Antoni Krzemińscy named "Cabinet of illusion". It was the second cinema in the world, right after the Lumiere brothers in France. The theme of the hotel was not a matter of coincidence – it was inspired by the history of the building placed on 120 Piotrkowska Street. The tenement house was designed by the famous architect Gustaw Landau Gutenteger in the characteristic early XIXth century style. Stare Kino offers 2 fully equiped conference rooms42 apartments with kitchenettes and bathrooms, restaurant and cosy cinema. Let us welcome you in the film heart of Łódź!
